PROCLAMATION City of Cleveland Jane L. Campbell, Mayor In Recognition Of Bill "Silver B" Richards WHEREAS, on half of the citizens of the CIA of Cleveland, 1 am honored to offer this proclamation In recognition of Bill ''Silver B'' Richards for his nomination for the Dr. Marin Luther King Jr. Community Service Award; and Whereas, Bill has been a leader of the community since the early 80's working under the Stokes administration as the Entertainment Chairperson; and WHEREAS, since that time he visit with the community, making it his business to pass out music event tickets to the area youth; and WHEREAS, Bill heads the Youth Summer Camp, after school program and teen center at the East Cleveland Community Center and DJ for a youth radio program. It ls evident of his commitment and dedication to the betterment and safety of Cleveland's children. NOW, THEREFORE, in Jane L. Campbell the 55* Mayor of the City of Cleveland, do hereby offer this Proclamatlon in recognition of Bill "Silver B" Richards I encourage all citizens to join me In congratulating him on his accomplishment, and extending him (best wishes for his continued success. Work Experience Assistant to the Executive Director Assist with the planning, development, and ongoing operation of the Center. Plan and develop policies and procedures. Develop, modify, and trouble-shoot programs. Evaluate effectiveness of programs and implement necessary changes. Organize and prepare appropriate reports as required. Enlist the support and cooperation of supportive agencies and service. Orient indigenous community groups to develop and maintain their trust. Act as liaison between supportive agencies and the Neighborhood Center’s project. Interpret community opinion of program to the Executive Director and other significant persons. Supervise approximately 10 employees while providing guidance, assistance and training as necessary. Make recommendations regarding employment, performance appraisals, promotions, and terminations. Serves as a member of citywide projects as assigned. Prevention Services Coordinator Responsible for overall supervision and provisions of Prevention services. Develop, implement curriculums and program outlines. Responsible for all day-to-day operations. Responsible for preparation of the monthly reports. Responsible for the developing and implementing units of service for department and staff. Responsible for the development of staff that insures continual professional growth. Informing and delegating duties to appropriate personnel. To maintain documentation of all components of the Prevention Department. Community Relations Coordinator Network with Drug Free Coordinators, guidance counselors, agency referral sources, etc. Coordinate referral’s resources. Conduct treatment and prevention presentations and training workshops for professional staff, schools, agencies, and other specialty groups. Represents the agency and informs the public of substance abuses facts and wellness issues to local newspapers, radio, and television mediums; Maintain professional knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks. Maintaining documentation of all prevention/public relation services. Prevention Services Manager Responsible for overall supervision and provisions of Prevention services. Develop, implement curriculums and program outlines. Responsible for all day-to-day operations. Responsible for preparation of the monthly reports. Responsible for the developing and implementing units of service for department and staff. Responsible for the development of staff that insures continual professional growth. Informing and delegating duties to appropriate personnel. To maintain documentation of all components of the Prevention Department. Prevention Specialist Report to the Prevention Manager. Responsible for the day-to-day site(s) assigned. Working knowledge of policies and procedures. Understanding of the various curriculums utilized. Responsible for maintaining documentation of all prevention service. Development of program goals and objectives. Responsible for providing program services to the youth, families and the community. Responsible for assisting the Prevention Manager as assigned. Responsible for understanding Prevention, understanding Prevention standards. All other related duties as assigned. Senior Chemical Dependency Counselor, OutpatientlAftercare Senior Counselor, Cultural Awareness Instructor. Supervision of counseling staff, staff scheduling, supervision of training and programming. Provision of services for each component of the clinical program. Facilitation of groups, lectures, individuals and case management around family concerns. Assessment of psychosocial, family cultural issues and treatment requirements. Development of master and weekly treatment plans. Supervision of staff, client activities, crisis intervention, reports and records keeping, and referrals. Collection and transportation of urine specimens for toxicology. Also responsible for screening the clients, monitoring phones, and support prevention programming. Senior Chemical Dependency Counselor & Lecturer/Instructor. Supervised, counseled, and co-facilitated group, individual and family therapy, using Alcoholic Anonymous Big Book and reality therapy as the base. This program starts from a 10-day evaluation of chemical abuse to 28 days of treatment, if evaluated chemically dependent. Staff training and instructor. Counselor Managing of Behavior Modification Programs. Supervision & counseling services. Coordination activities for youth size (18-22) with behavioral and emotional problems. Cottage management, supervisory and staff training responsibility duties. Head Child-Care responsibility. Talent Show director and Cultural Awareness Consultant.
